Lisa Rushton
An American vocalist and recording artist from Buffalo, NY who began singing in the children’s choir of Antioch Baptist Church from age 5 and at 7 years old was given her first solo to sing on Easter Sunday. Her passion for all things musically inclined inspired her to learn to play clarinet at 11 years old and to also join her Middle School choir, the Orchestra and her Middle School Band. Performing in hometown Local Bands followed until her professional career began in 1991, when she was given an impromptu opportunity to audition for the Godfather of Soul, Mr. James Brown, who then brought Lisa into his Band as an original member of BitterSweet (JB’s background vocalists) She is currently involved in studio recordings, tours, gigs and tribute shows.
